Stickmaking Classes

Regrettably the Stickmaking Competition will not be taking place in 2022.

Class A – Plain only walking stick – horn (not of working size)
Class B – Plain horn crook
Class C – Fancy stick – horn
Class D – Plain thumbstick – horn
Class E – Plain walking stick – wood
Class F – Plain wood crook
Class G – Fancy stick – wood
Class H – Plain thumbstick – wood
Class I – Any other
Class J – Staghorn – fancy
Class K – Staghorn – plain
Class L – Staghorn thumbstick – plain or fancy
Class M – Short sticks – under 42″ high
Class N – Novice – horn
Class O – Novice – wood
Class P – Miniatures

Entry Fee: 50p per item

Prizes: Rosettes to 4th place. Rosette for Best in Show
Best in Show will receive the Stickmakers Trophy, sponsored by Honley Show

Presentation of rosettes will be made at 4pm in the Stick Tent.

Rules: British Stickmakers’ Guild Rules and Regulations apply. Entries can be accepted on the day, but must be handed to the steward no later than 12 NOON. All sticks must be entered in the maker’s name and failure to do so may result in disqualification. No sticks may be removed until after the presentation of rosettes and must be claimed from an authorized steward or organizer. Competitors with eight entries or more will have their gate money refunded by an authorized steward in the Stick Section of the Countryside Marquee.
