\nRiding hats to the current safety standards must be worn when mounted anywhere on the Showground.

The South West Yorkshire Shire and Hiring Society Foal 5 Star Accumulator<\/strong>.
\nOpen to Pure Bred Shire Horse Foals born in 2026<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Participating shows: Honley, Harthill, Emley, Arthington and Penistone<\/span>
\nPoints will be awarded according to the placings of the foal in the Foal Class (classes may be split into filly & colt at each show’s discretion)<\/span>
\nPoints awarded as follows: 1st 5 points, 2nd 4 points, 3rd 3 points, 4th 2 points, 5th 1 point<\/span>
\nThis accumulator is open to everyone. Membership of any show societies is not required.<\/span>
\nCHAMPION FOAL (the foal with the most points) from the accumulator will receive \u00a3100<\/strong> kindly donated by the SWYSHHS.
\nRESERVE FOAL from the accumulator will receive \u00a350<\/strong> kindly donated by R & R BEDFORD, HARTCLIFFE SHIRES<\/span>
\nTO RECEIVE ANY AWARD FOR THE FOAL ACCUMULATOR, COMPETITORS MUST ATTEND THE PENISTONE SHOW<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Horses must have been vaccinated to comply with the requirements of the primary course (1st vaccination & then 2nd vaccination between 21 – 92 days later) followed by the first booster (150 -215days) and then all subsequent boosters. Horses may compete having received the primary course and prior to the first booster but not within 7 days of receiving a vaccine dose.<\/span>
\nHorses must have been vaccinated within 6 months before the Show but not less than 7 days of arriving at the Show.<\/span>
\nFoals<\/span>
\nIn-foal mares\u00a0 that have already had vaccinations of primary course Equine Influenza should be vaccinated 4-6 weeks before the foal is due to be born.<\/span>
\nFoals should be vaccinated for Equine influenza at 6 months to commence their primary course.
\n<\/span>All owners are urged to adhere to strict biosecurity protocols at all times.<\/span>
\nVaccinations are subject to local risk assessments by the attending veterinarians.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monitoring of Compliance
\n<\/strong>PLEASE NOTE THAT NEITHER VACCINATION CERTIFICATES NOR PASSPORTS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SHOW PRIOR TO THE EVENT. HOWEVER RANDOM CHECKS WILL BE CARRIED OUT ON THE SHOWGROUND DURING THE SHOW.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entry Fee:<\/strong><\/span> \u00a310.00 all classes. On the Day Entries \u00a312. \u00a32 First aid donation optional<\/span><\/span>
\nPostal Entries Close: 20th June 2026 to allow for the entries to be received by the Heavy Horse Secretary.
\n<\/span>(Late entries taken on Day of Show at the Horse Secretary’s Tent up to 12.00 am)<\/span>
\nA vehicle pass will be required to access the main Showfield via Gate 4. Access available until 11am.
\n<\/strong><\/span>Please note. Once on the Show field, there will be no further movement of vehicles until 5pm.<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

Class 1<\/strong> \u2013 Barren Mare or Gelding \u2013 3 years old and over<\/span>
\nClass 2<\/strong> \u2013 Colt, Gelding or Filly born 2025 (Yearling)<\/span>
\nClass 3<\/strong> \u2013 Gelding or Filly born 2024 (2 years old)<\/span>
\nClass 4<\/strong> \u2013 Brood Mare with Foal at foot<\/span>
\nClass 5<\/strong> \u2013 Foal Born 2026<\/span>
\nClass 6<\/strong> \u2013 Young Handlers: Age 12-18 years. Winner qualifies for Young Handler of the Year 2026 at the Midland Shire Foal\u00a0 Show.<\/span>
\nClass 7<\/strong> \u2013 Ridden Heavy Horse: Pure bred or\u00a0 Cross(Shire or Clydesdale).\u00a0 Shire and Shire cross to be judged in line with SHS Criteria.<\/span>
\nClass 8<\/strong> \u2013 Any other recognized heavy horse breed (in-hand)<\/span><\/p>\n
