\u00a0Regrettably due to lack of entries last year, it has been decided not to hold a Donkey Section this year.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Entry Fees:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a310 Pre Entries, \u00a312 on the day. Child Handler \u00a35. A \u00a32 donation to cover 1st Aid costs would be appreciated.
\nEntries on the day. If intending to enter on the day, please contact the Secretary on Friday 27th<\/strong> in order for her to let the gate stewards know you are coming.

Parking:
\n<\/strong>Will be on the main showfield. Entrance via Gate 2. A vehicle pass will be required. This will be emailed for you to print off. If you are unable to do this, please send an s.a.e with your entry form for return of a pre-printed pass. Vehicles must be on site and parked up by 9.30am at the latest.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

General Rules:
\n<\/strong>The Secretary reserves the right to amend the schedule and classes as she sees fit if the necessity arises.
\nThe decision of the Section Secretary is final.
\n<\/span><\/span>The timetable in the schedule is approximate and although the organisers will make every effort to maintain the timetable,<\/span>
\nAll Exhibitors in Horse Classes must have Public Liability Insurance,<\/strong> Valid Equine Passports<\/strong> and Equine Influenza vaccination Certificates<\/strong> which must accompany the horse at all times, and are liable to random inspection.
\nCorrectly secured riding hats to the current standard<\/strong> must be worn at all times when mounted anywhere on the Showfield.
\n<\/span><\/span>All stallions must be shown correctly bitted.<\/span>
\nALL RIDERS\/ HANDLERS MUST DISPLAY THEIR ANIMAL\u2019S COMPETITOR NUMBER AT ALL TIMES WHEN EITHER RIDING OR LEADING THEIR ANIMAL ANYWHERE ON THE SHOWGROUND.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important information re. EQUINE INFLUENZA<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

ALL EQUINES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PASSPORT.<\/span>
\nRANDOM CHECKS WILL BE CARRIED OUT ON THE SHOWGROUND DURING ENTRY.<\/span>
\nPlease make sure you have your passport ready.<\/span><\/p>\n

Equine Flu Vaccinations<\/strong>\u2013 All equines attending Honley Agricultural Show must have been vaccinated for Equine Influenza within the past 12 months.<\/span>
\nThe requirement for the first 3 vaccinations is as follows:<\/span>
\nFirst 2 vaccinations 21 \u2013 60 days apart;<\/span>
\nThird booster between 120-180 days;<\/span>
\nAnnual booster vaccination within 6 months or 12 months depending on governing body.<\/span>
\nNo horse\/pony should enter competitions within 7 days of an EI vaccination<\/span>
\nNo equine should enter competitions within 7 days of an EI vaccination<\/span>
\nFoals should commence vaccinations at 6 months old.
\n<\/span>All owners are urged to adhere to strict biosecurity protocols at all times.<\/span>
\nVaccinations are subject to local risk assessments by the attending veterinarians.
\nPLEASE NOTE THAT NEITHER VACCINATION CERTIFICATES NOR PASSPORTS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SHOW PRIOR TO THE EVENT.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Judging to commence at 10.30am.
\nJudge: <\/strong>Mr Matthew Maher-Burns, Stockport<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Class 1 \u2013 Best Condition and Turned Out Donkey<\/span><\/strong>, any age and sex, conformation will not be taken into account.<\/span>
\nClass 2. \u00a0Stallions and Geldings.<\/strong> 4years old and over.<\/span>
\nDBS Best Gelding Rosette<\/u><\/span>
\nClass 3. Mare 4 years old and over or Brood mare 5 years old and over with own foal at foot.<\/strong> Foals to be 6 weeks old or over at date of show. Foals to be judged first.<\/span>
\nDBS Best Foal Rosette<\/u><\/span>
\nClass 4. Young stock. Colt, Filly or Gelding <\/strong>3 years old and under.<\/span>
\nDBS Rosettes will be awarded for Best 2yr old, Best Gelding and Best Yearling<\/u><\/span>
\nClass 5. Veteran Donkey Class. <\/strong><\/span>
\nDBS Best Veteran Rosette<\/span>
\n<\/u><\/p>\n

In hand Championship<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe In Hand Champion Donkey at this show automatically qualifies for the relevant Championship at the DBS Annual Supreme Championship Show in August 2025, provided it is owned by a fully paid- up member of the DBS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Class 6. Young Handler <\/strong>– Under 16 on day of show, over 3 years.<\/span>
\nDBS Rosette for Young Handler <\/u><\/span>
\nClass 7. Ridden Donkey.<\/strong> 4 years and over.<\/span>
\nMinimum age for the rider 3 years. Children of 8 years old or under may be led. When a child competes on a lead rein the donkey must be led by a competent adult (18 years or over) and the leading rein must be attached to the noseband.<\/span>
\nClass 8. Driven Donkey<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Championship<\/strong><\/span>
\nopen to the winners of all the Donkey Classes 1-8<\/span>
\nHonley Show rosettes awarded to the Champion and Reserve Champions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The In-Hand (Classes 1-5)\u00a0 and Overall (Classes 1- 8) Champions and Reserve Champions\u00a0 are eligible to take part in the<\/span>
\nHonley Show Grand Parade held in the Main Ring at 4.15<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Please Note:<\/strong> Entering one donkey and showing another is not permitted.<\/span>
\nStallions and Entire Colts must be properly dressed in bridle and bit with the leading rein correctly attached to the bit.<\/span>
\nIn the \u2018Mare with Foal at Foot\u2019 class, superficial blemishes do not necessarily debar a mare from being awarded a prize.<\/span><\/p>\n

Definitions: <\/strong>Donkey classes are open to all donkeys and all exhibitors, whether they are members of the Donkey Breed Society or not.<\/span>
\nA Donkey may win more than one Championship at shows but will qualify only once for the DBS Supreme Championship Show. Where the In Hand Champion Donkey has previously qualified, the Reserve Champion Donkey will be deemed the Qualifier.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
